Western Saratoga County is anchored in the northwestern corner by the town of Corinth which is located on the banks of the Hudson River in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. Surrounding lakes (including Great Sacandaga Lake and Lake Luzerne), streams, and woodlands provide beauty at every turn. The rural communities are an easy drive from the faster-paced attractions and entertainment offered in the neighboring communities of Saratoga, Glens Falls and Lake George to the east. The first lumber mills in the town of Corinth were built about 1800 and the first clothing mill was built about 1805 on Kayaderosseras creek.
